The Rain Barrel Fundraiser Project
Preserving Our Water; Promoting Our Youth

The Rain Barrel Fundraiser Project enables individuals in the community to support their local youth while also demonstrating responsible water stewardship.

Rain barrels have long been useful resources for harvesting water. Backyard enthusiasts are rediscovering the benefits of rain barrels, including cost savings evident in their utility bills. Environmentalists, too, encourage the rain barrel system, not only as a method of conservation, but also as a measure of protection against the polluting run-off water flowing from our yards and streets into our precious streams and lakes.

More specific to our community, recommendations within the Lake Pepin Stormwater and Shoreland Initiative suggest retaining water on site, such as through the use of a rain barrel, to help prevent sedimentation of our lake.

LCBF will be offering rain barrels as a fundraising effort, with a portion of this year’s proceeds being given as an educational scholarship. Local youth will have the opportunity to earn the scholarship by submitting an essay relevant to one of LCBF’s four pillars: business invigoration, volunteerism, youth involvement, and Lake City promotion.

RAIN BARRELS WILL BE PRODUCED IN LIMITED QUANTITIES!

Barrels will be offered on a first-come / first-served basis. Currently, LCBF rain barrels are available to order on line. Rain barrels are priced at $60.00 per unit. Delivery to a local address is offered for an additional $10.00.

LCBF is not responsible for installation. All sales are final.
